Community Impact
Bradford, Smethport, and Port Allegany: Must be a qualifying 501 ( c ) 3 non-profit organization, as defined by the Internal Revenue Service, providing a health and human service program to the community that meets and supports the funding criteria of the United Way of the Bradford Area, Inc. Preference will be given to applicants submitting an application that aids in the health, financial stability, and educational needs of our communities.
Awardees will receive fund distribution on the 1st of each month for a 10-month cycle (March - December). Applications are due December 31st. Post Allocation Reporting is required - Due January 31st.
Blackout Window: Funded agencies are not permitted to host capital campaigns during the months of October - December campaigns. Operational supporting events are permitted.

Quarterly Impact
Eligible non-profit agencies located in McKean County (exception: Kane, PA - please contact the Kane United Fund for opportunities) may submit a request for up to $1,500 for Quarterly Impact funds. Awards will be given to programs or initiatives with the potential to make an immediate impact on the local community while being essential to the agency's mission. Priority will be given to those who have not received prior funding, who have supplied all necessary documentation, and who request funding for programmatic costs. The deadlines for Quarterly Impact funding applications are February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1 of the given year. A press release will be made available a month before submitting an application and awards will be distributed on the 1st of the following month. Programs for this funding stream should be executed within two months time. Post Allocation Reporting is required.

Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP)
The EFSP provides shelter, food, and supportive services for residents experiencing non-disaster related emergencies. The Emergency Food & Shelter Program (EFSP) funds the work of local organizations providing safe, affordable housing and nutritious food. Grantees have used these funds to expand shelter services, offer rental assistance, and bring healthy food to families. EFSP is a federal program administered by FEMA overseen by a local board of nonprofits and government organizations and administered by the United Way of the Bradford Area, Inc.

Program funds are used to provide the following, as determined by the Local Board in funded jurisdictions:

Food, in the form of served meals or groceries.

Lodging in a mass shelter or hotel/motel.

Rent or mortgage payment(s), up to 90 days.

Utility bill(s), up to 90 days.

Equipment necessary to feed or shelter people, up to a $300 limit per item.
